FAQs

What is Regulation Station?

Regulation Station is a mobile service that runs fun, engaging workshops to help young children build emotional regulation and self-awareness skills. We visit early childhood centres, schools, and community spaces to support children, educators, and families through creative, evidence-based programs.

Who are the workshops for?

Our workshops are designed for:

  • Children aged 3–5 years

  • Childcare centers and early learning educators

  • Parents seeking support around their child’s emotional wellbeing

We adapt each session to suit the developmental stage and unique needs of the group.

What do the workshops focus on?

We focus on helping children:

  • Identify and name emotions

  • Use calming and self-regulation strategies

  • Improve social and communication skills

  • Feel more confident in handling big feelings

  • Learn life skills

  • Practice cognitive skills

Our sessions are interactive, playful and rooted in child development theory and psychology.

Where are you based?

We currently operate in Queensland and South Australia, and regularly visit:

  • Early learning centres

  • Primary schools

  • Community venues

We’re expanding — so if you're outside these areas, feel free to reach out!

  • Fill in our Expression of Interest form

  • Or email us directly at hello@regulationstation.au

We’ll guide you through the booking process and tailor a plan to suit your center or child.

Yes. Our Directors are qualified educators and/or psychologists with experience in early childhood and emotional development. Our Workshop Facilitators hold relevant experience/qualifications are a required to hold:

  • Working with Children Checks (Blue Card / WWCC)

  • First Aid certification

How much do the workshops cost?

Our pricing varies depending on the location, number of children, and type of session (e.g. one-off vs. series). Please contact us for a tailored quote.

We aim to make our services accessible for families and centers and offer package options for group bookings.

Can I get a receipt or invoice?

Yes — all bookings come with a formal invoice and receipt. If you’re booking through your childcare center, we can work directly with the service provider.

Is this a therapy service?

No — Regulation Station is not a clinical therapy service. While our work is grounded in psychological principles, our sessions are educational and preventative, not diagnostic or therapeutic.

If your child requires individual therapy, we can refer you to trusted clinicians.

What if I’m worried about my child’s behaviour or mental health?

If you're concerned about your child's wellbeing, we're happy to chat and help you understand what kind of support might be best. Our workshops may complement other services, but they are not a substitute for professional mental health care.

Do you work with neurodivergent children?

Absolutely. We aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all children, including those who are autistic, ADHD, or have sensory needs. We’re committed to neuro-affirming practice and adapt our workshops accordingly.

Can parents attend the sessions?

In most settings (such as childcare centers), sessions are designed for children only. However, for parent-and-child events and community sessions parents are welcome to attend, please enquire for further information.

Do you provide resources after the workshop?

Yes! For many of our programs a session outline is provided after the workshop, as well as a collaborative floor book, and take-home workbook so that the learning continues beyond the session for children, parents, and educators.

Are workshops run indoors or outdoors?

Our workshops are flexible, most workshops are run indoors and may be run outdoors where weather and an appropriate outdoor space is available.
